The General and the Dancer

by trippetta TC   Jul 21, 2008

Like a child, I dance
While you play your game,
I feel the rhythm and move to the beat
As I sway
You lay claim,
To mock battlefields and lofty wars as the tempo dips
and bends
I stretch and lift and you curse
Throwing the board and scattering pieces and peace
Like a child who knows the game can't be won
(Or a general who knows the battle is hopelessly
lost)
But I am a dancer skilled in verse
And this mind owns images of hope in lands that
you could never hope to even lease

Inspired, no doubt, by the magnitude of contempory life...
    very effectively delivered...
speaking raw and real Truth to imaginary power..(!)

I thought this was very good,a unique style. The contrast between a dancer ,serene and skilled to someone angry and out of control was outstanding! well done.
