Never Say Goodbye

When I received the call,
I didn't believe a word.
I hung up the phone,
Trying to forget what I had heard.

But it was true,
You were really gone.
And at that very moment,
I don't think I ever felt so alone.

I didn't cry at first,
And to this day I still don't know why.
But now every night as I pray,
A lonely tear will always fall from my eye.

I sit in the darkness and think to myself,
I'll never hear your voice again.
How could He have taken you away from me?
My best friend.

When I stood over your body,
And my tears hit your cheek.
I knew you were talking to me,
And I would have given anything to hear you speak.

I then wanted to scream,
Scream my undying love for you.
But I kept my secret to myself,
For you already knew it was true.

I also dream of you often,
And some seem so real.
Especially all the ones of your accident,
Because your pain I could feel.

And even though it hurts to,
You are all I talk about.
Because you always filled me with hope,
And never gave me any doubt.

But now you are my Angel,
Watching over me within the skies.
And knowing that I have no reason,
To ever have to say to you, goodbye.

This is a true story. it's about my best friend who passed almost 4 years ago. i kno it seems out of place at times but it doesnt matter to me, because it's a dedication to him, and it was from my very heart. please tell me what you think, suggestions are welcome. thanks.
