Dear Uncle...

by Alexis   Jul 24, 2008

It's a new year.. I still regret
With a tear.. I'm still in doubt

Looking toward the sky
It saddens my day
You left without a word
You were so sure, being loved is all you wanted

But you felt you couldn't stay
Could things have been different in another way?
Can't let you go, I'm stuck in November
My thoughts will always remember

It's all a blur
You failed before
Already with two attempts
But you didn't fail your last.

The saying,
Third times a charm,
became like an alarm
Who would of thought?
This month was your last

Through it all, you brought your two daughters together
When you locked the gate
and climbed that ladder
The cops were already to late.

You left your Bible, with a note written inside
It was the last note they'll ever recieve
You loved your daughters, but you where sorry
Living life was no longer your worry.

My heart felt a tug
For the first time they felt a real hug,
Shelby and Elena
only nice and eleven

You left them,
Left them with out a dad
What was going through your head?

I'm still left with questions
But I'll always cherish the memories
You did your best
Forget the rest

All this is true
I wrote this for you
All Along
This is my goodbye, so long.
