Bleed

by Torrence   Aug 18, 2008

Are you there God?
It's me, misery
It's tempting, see
All the good, the bad
All you thought you had
Fading like the light
of a clouded midnight.
Cry out loud, but your voice is hollow
Look which way to go but there's no path to follow
Wallow, weep, claw your eyes
Escape this fate that you despise
You're wise, you think, you may be, must be
Practiced prayers but now you're rusty
Alone tonight, you watch the stars shine
Stare long enough you just might go blind
Divine, this mess, this wretched night
Afraid you might not have the strength to fight
Insanity, laughter, bed of concrete
Eyes in the crowd that your eyes can't meet
An empty bottle for an empty life,
Spent tightroped, on the edge of a knife
"Solace" you pray, but you can't find peace
On these nights it's easier to bleed than breathe.
