Music Box

by Lyssi Lori   Aug 18, 2008

A beautiful music box once had a song, so sweet,
That people used come to listen and watch for a treat.
But her once flawless voice is now cracked and worn,
And her graceful dance now seems so foreign.
Her once sparkling dress is now beaten and old,
And her eyes are now black instead of glistening gold.
Her life is now a nightmare instead of a fairytale,
She tried her best to move on, only to fail.

This is sad but very honest and relatable...

Suggestion: Second line I think would flow Bette without the word 'come'

    Lyssi,

I suppose this 'music box' could almost be taken metaphorically. Is this, in fact, a lady whose career has run its course and whose glory days are behind her? She cannot move on from a world of showbiz, glitz and glamour, perhaps.
Or is it literally a battered old music box? Either way, the tale is a sad one and could apply either way.

    Very well done,

    Ben
