I am someone

by Iola   Aug 21, 2008

You have the life of a water creature within your soul
But your fire has been damped by lust
The type that consumes your wary mind
Eats you whole
How can you love?
How can you ever, ever trust?

You have the vision of the eagle that flies so high
But your wings have been snapped in two
Lying down flapping and screaming
How can you try?
Don't even know how
Unsure what to do

You have the heart of an elephant because you care
But your heavy feet keep you solid on the ground
Bearing forward with no fear
Yet no one is there
No one cares
They make no sound

You have the fire of the red dragon in your eyes
But your fury is too much to bear for most
Spit in anger at those you love
Protect what you despise
Take the fall
Whilst the others boast

You have the creativity to create whatever you want
But you fear all that can be done
Look for a way to release
Perceived as blunt
Turning into a paintbrush
Becoming someone
