One More Year

by bubbles   Aug 21, 2008

As I move towards that fateful date,
I feel the pull, I taste the bait,
It draws me in til I can't say no
I finally realise, I have to go.
And time is racing, oh so fast,
The warmth of summer does not last.
Another one has been and gone,
I'm drawn back into the endless con.
Put on the shackles, chain and ball,
Time to sacrifice again, my all,
Time to start again once more,
Start the challenge, fresh and raw!

No more does freedom belong to me,
Lock me up, throw away the key.
I'm here again, on this familiar path,
Ready to take on all its wrath,
But the future's not so clear to me,
Like sailing on a stormy sea,
Will this year be my end?
The one that sends me round the bend.
As I set off for one more journey,
I know it's make or break for me?
Fear consumes as the time draws near
I fear how much I can achieve this year?
