A Promise Of Friendship

by enigmatic_prey   Aug 21, 2008

One night, I found myself thinking,
"Times when I wanted to give up,
Never in life I reached out to anyone
Nor let anyone get involved in this piece of crap"

No matter how many times
I wake up from my dreams,
The blue sky knocks me down
Back to the disheartening nights so dim.

Then a wish I yearned for came true
Someone set free a wrecked soul like me
From the labyrinth where I was trapped,
Nearly breaking down to my knees.

I'm glad someone cared for me
Despite the fact, I had lost hope
But then, there you are before me
Literally, helping me learn how to cope.

Without you, I would be nothing
I'd someone who'd rather be alone
Someone who'd rather stay in silence
With a heart as hard as a stone.

We are under the same sky.
We had shared so much fun,
Even the worst struggle we could have,
As the wheels of time continue to run.

Tears may cascade down our faces
When times in our lives seem hopeless
Yet I know, we can make it through
For these tears would soon be erased.

I'll take you with my ethereal hands
Call you with this soundless voice
Even if our lives my drastically change
From this day on, I'll try to be your shadow.

If only things would always last,
Perhaps I'd never be scared anymore.
But still, I refuse to trust people I know
Because of the disgust and pain I gained before.

However, If fate would decide
We have to depart, far from each other
Don't worry my precious, true friend.
A bond like ours will be kept forever.

If I see you again, I will embrace
The lonely journey you take
Closely stay with you till the end,
Guide you with the choice you'll make.

I'd always be faithful to my vow.
You might think this is absurd.
I do not care if you really do
For I just want this to be heard.

You got my token of friendship
As I did with yours, I hope you'd keep.
This is a poem, a gift from me to you
Along with the words so real and deep.
