Lost

by Gentle Storm   Sep 8, 2008

What scary place is this? This wilderness vast and deserted,
I know not of my bearing, or where my journey started.
No sign of life surrounds me, but the vulture that looms above,
What has this world become? No sight of a single dove?

I hear no chirping of birds, but wails of anguish and pain,
The sky is clear and blue, no hopes of drops of rain.
I see no helping hands, but solemn looks of fear,
It's a savage world, every man for himself I hear.

No footsteps left to follow, all alone I have to trudge,
A true rebirth of Sodom, but who am I to judge?
We relish of the juice, that makes us speak in slurs,
And the stuff once in your head, will make you see in blurs.

We're told our flesh is sacred, but what with all its pleasure?
Can't help but call this trash, yet it's my neighbour's treasure.
Where to go or turn? This is just too much to handle,
He who brought me here, when will He put off my candle?

I am lost, I concede, of all the words to speak,
I am lost, I concede, in the present, my future bleak.
I am lost of what to do, what I want or what I ought?
I am lost in a wild, deep and precious thought.
