Her Heart Is Filled With A New Emotion; Regret

by ABake   Sep 16, 2008

Slaming the door loudly behind her, she falls to her knees pleading with her heart to stop aching. She knows it's time to let go... She deserves so much better than what he gave. Still she won't let go, well her heart won't let go anyways- His voice still gives her butterflies, maybe even more than before. She remembers why it is that they fell in love in the first place. Maybe she took him for granted- Always focusing on the past, not loving him the way she should've. She feels a new emotion; regret.

Tonight, she will kiss their 8th grade picture goodnight before tucking it safely underneath her pillow- Wrapped up in a faded blue Aeropostale hoodie; if she inhales deep enough, the smell of his intoxicating cologne will fill her senses with a secretive happiness... All of their songs are on a playlist, playing all through the night. Some make her smile, others bring tears- What she misses the most, is what hurts the most; his beautiful voice melting her heart everytime he would say, "Baby, I love you..."

She had heard it through the grapevine, that he asks about her often- Smiling brightly at the mention of her name; she questions everyone but him. Hope and love are the only emotions that shine in this young girls eyes. They were once best friends so In love; unbreakable; inseperable. Just two hard headed kids so deep in love, that even in a crowded room they only had eyes for eachother. The young girl cries tonight, right after kissing the month old picture... She decides to listen to an old voicemail and attempt to drift off to sleep...
