    Crystal,

To lose your husband due to a war must be the most horrible thing that could ever happen to a woman. I am glad to read you are getting over the grief.
Good luck to you my dear:)

    Hugs,

    5/5 Ingrid

"This morning I woke and to my surprise
No more teardrops filled my eyes"
`Simple beginning yet, it rhymes so nicely.. great start. :]

"For the first time since that horrid spring
I heard the birds sweetly sing"
`So beautiful. The first line kind of is sad..and then the sweet singing of the birds makes the poem so beautiful and so bright. Loved the word choice. Horrid was a great word.

"I noticed flowers in my front yard
    Smelled their fragrance with regard"
`Full of imagery. I love it, so beautifully worded. Loved the word choice.

"In the mirror a smiling face
A soulful look has been replaced"
`Love it, it puts a smile across my face.

The mood kind of switched a little bit to sad, but then switches back to happiness because you say that sadness is no longer a threat, which is great! Amazing work.. honestly.. this poem had amazing vocabulary. Well done! 5/5.

The poem was wonderful!! u made feel when the sun rays start to invade my room step by step bringing hope with them!!

i'm deeply sry for the loss of ur husband, i'm sure it wasnt easy, sry for what u've been through

wish ur future will be much better, hope ur smile wont seperate ur face...(i'm sure he will never wish to see you sad...)

Therefore, I let go but will not forget
Sadness is no longer a looming threat
His love I will carry for eternity
He gave back my life so I can be me

    ^^lovely & rare...the loyalty in you...

wish u happiness in ur life :) ...
hope u'll meet together in heaven :)

You done good sweety. You are cleaning out the baggage you have carried around for a while. Your man died for you and if he had the chance to do it again he would do it again. One thing you can know he wants you happy and to live life the best you can. I'm certain of that.
Poet Sara Teesdale once wrote this poem that seems to fit you at this point.

    Into my hearts treasury
    I sliped a coin
    That time cannot take
    nor a thief proloin
    Oh better then the minting
    of a gold crown king
    It the safe kept memory
    of a lovely thing.

There is not much more I can add to the comments already written. This write touched me to the core. I wish you the best and I am sorry for your loss but please know that I appreciate the sacrifice your husband made serving and protecting us and our country.
