Red Stained Roses

by An Angel in the Darkness   Sep 26, 2008

Red stained roses,
Bleeding hearts,
She stands in a crowd,
Frozen at the start.

She ties the rope when she gets home,
Put the noose around her throat,
And went out cold.

A secret that she never told,
A heart that turned out to be so cold,
A love that was too easily sold.

She cried her secretive tears,
Hidden in her room,
She wanted to die for too many years,
It was an inevitable doom.

He gave her what she wanted,
With a blade and a goodbye kiss,
He whispered in her ear that she would be missed,
And he's sorry her life had to come to this.

So on a cold windy day,
Her friends bow their heads to pray,
And wish they had been enough to make her stay,
Just as it begins to rain.

And as the drops land on their face,
And the tears join in for a race,
A once sad day,
Turns into a happier way.

Remembering the stupid jokes and crazy ways,
Memories that should never fade,
A love that will always stay,
With an "I'm sorry" that still rings through your day.
