Gone

by Matthew Schut   Oct 8, 2008

Two ex-lovers
Walking their separate ways
Not ever looking at each other
Having nothing left to say

Nights used to be filled
With holding each other tight
Talking about the worries of the day
And knowing everything would be alright

A kiss that sent tingles down both of their spines
A warm embrace that made the tears go away
A smile that would lighten both of their worlds
Never thinking it would come to this day

A word that means forever
We will never give it another try
I still wonder why it all ended
And why did we have to say goodbye
