You Taught Me

by AngelicDecadence   Oct 9, 2008

You taught me how to laugh again
And gave me back my smile,
Restored my faith in people when
Everyone seemed vile.
You taught me how to listen,
And not just hear my cries.
You taught me how to see
And not just be blinded by my tears.
You taught me how to touch,
And not just feel my pain.
You taught me how to taste,
And not just swallow my blood.
You saved me too many times,
And then you paid the price,
But you got out.
I didn't.
