The Look

I struggle with the way I feel
Because I lack the text
To label the look two people share
From one soul deep into the next

When you gaze into my eyes like that
I feel the rest of me falling apart
Until all that's left is my innermost self
Glowing with feelings that leak from my heart

There is no one word to capture it all-
This blissful, shining, happy stare
It's everything to us in the moment
But the rest of the world doesn't notice or care

After doubting myself, and flat-out denial
I realize that I actually already knew:
The look is pure love, it just didn't make sense
Until I shared that special connection with you
