Collision with Lightning

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Oct 20, 2008

The road opens its welcoming arms to me.
It invites me to pursue my journey.
From the window, I see dark clouds.
They ban the sun's rays from being exposed
By allowing blue light to pierce the atmosphere.

Lightning.

I want to turn the wheel, avoid the collision.
Yet, my hands cannot move, my head is spinning.
I see blue flashes, black, blue, then black again.
It all blurs into one spectacle.

Collision.

I cannot avoid the lightning; I drive left, it follows.
Sanity becomes a stranger- I no longer am.
I drive full speed ahead, as I cannot break.
I am being propelled into nature's destiny.
I can no longer escape it.
It swallows me alive.
Yet again.
