Friends and Lovers

Friends and Lovers
C. Curcio November 25, 2008

I have become friends with words
I would even go so far as to say
We are lovers

In the beginning, ours was not
An easy relationship

There was a lot of
Uneasiness
Insecurity
Antagonism
On both our parts

But somehow we came to trust
To appreciate
To know
To love

Sometimes still
We are shy in public
But in bed
We are always wanton

P o r n stars of expression
W h o r es of language
P i m p s of the tongue
Mistress and slave
One to the other

Who is your friend?
Who is your lover?

A very imaginative use of language. Highly creative and also thought provoking at the same time.
