You Look at Me and Lie

by Hawaiian Chick   Dec 6, 2008

I wish you wouldn't confuse me,
when you pull then push away.
Avoiding me and rolling your eyes,
then finding forgiving things to say.

The lies, the tears, the heartache,
are getting too bad to bear.
Now I write poems like this,
writing as I sit here and stare.

People look at me, worried,
but I never well them why.
Why my noise is always puffy,
and I always have red eyes.

It doesn't seem fair to blame you,
though without you, I'd be fine.
You didn't know that it hurt me,
when you'd look at me and lie.
