Musical Rebellion

by The Angel of Secrets   Dec 8, 2008

A punky view of perspective
Saving our own generation.
Let's go outside and scream,
Fight the falling nation.

A fire of passion within,
Burning like hells thousand fires.
Let's fight the government
With our growling, raging desires.

An earth of teenage wishes
And the inspiration comes with.
Let's go into the darkest tunnel,
With a candle lit.

A group of idiotic dreams
Will take us anywhere.
We are the new generation,
If we want, we'll go there.

A musical rebellion,
Let the drums take us away.
With a crystal clear voice
Of a new and better day.

    "Let's go outside and scream,
    Fight the falling nation."
--These lines really spoke to me. I often write poetry about the U.S' problems and the way that was phrased aquired my full attention.

"Let the drums take us away.
    With a crystal clear voice
Of a new and better day."
--I selected these lines because of how well they describe the influence of music on teenagers. It is true that these musicians can tap into some emotion to generate a feeling or action. Great write and superb topic.
