Judgment Day

by Bill Turner   Dec 22, 2008

Spirit flying at the sound of a sigh
Heart lifting a burden carried for life
Season bringing guilt for darkness done
Best intentions bringing evil in the night
Noose...hood...trap door swinging out of sight
Sometimes a parking ticket pushes you to the edge
Other times the sound of life failing follows you
Peering over your shoulder...was it right?
Duty...or pleasure taken...maybe both...
That will wake you from a sound sleep
Cold sweat clinging to your brow
Our demons meet us when we are weak
Catching us in our sleep...watching for the moment
Unfolding fact and fiction in our mind
Forcing us to not be blind
Evil is as evil does...or is it the intention...
Do evil deeds lose their evil if the cause is just?
Judgment day will tell us all...slowly...one at a time

    Bill
I got chills when I was reading this piece.

Cold sweat clinging to your brow
Our demons meet us when we are weak
Catching us in our sleep...watching for the moment
Unfolding fact and fiction in our mind
Forcing us to not be blind

Sometimes I wonder if the bad things that happen to us in life are for something we did wrong....Like Hell on Earth...this is a very deep and intense poem.
    Excellent job!
    Take care my friend.

Is that really what you believe?

    Evil changes form.
Judgment isn't more than an idea. It's not going to change anything.

    This was well written.

Beautiful write Bill ... a wonderful take on life ... questions that many of us must have asked ourselves ...

Evil is as evil does...or is it the intention...
Do evil deeds lose their evil if the cause is just?
    ^^
very important queries on our deeds you have put at the end...
