Beauty of a Dying Rose

by ViolentlyDisturbed   Dec 26, 2008

Such sweet little lips
They were made for silence, not talking
A heart so young, but heartache still accrues
Stab the never-ending wound
Her veil, caught in the wind
His rose, withering in the sun

This first day of love
Caress the skin of beauty, not sin
Can I still kiss the lips, of my dear friend
Drown into her eyes, while I'm still blinded
Her heart, lost in the sea
His hand, reaches into retrieve

Save one breath for me
Keep the air in your lungs, and exhale on command
All the poetry in the world, could not save a life
Voice of an angel, can not speak tonight
Her lungs, collapse under pressure
His hand, counting the beating of her heart

Beauty of a dying rose
If I fall, it will be in you
If I love, it will be for your heart
If I die, it will be in your arms
I'll be there, if you ever need me
I'll be there, just close your eyes

And you'll see me tonight

Amazing imagery in this poem! I love the last stanza, because of it's especially important role to the poem itself. A true gem that's sure to be added to my favorites list. Please keep writing, a talent is definantly what you have!
