We only fought to find our own way.

by Teria   Dec 27, 2008

His tears did fall in rivers,
eyes did burn by millions.
Fears rising by the milli-second,
shame bewildering the highest of high.

Her heart didn't skip a beat,
but his stopped for days -
running on empty
his tears did fall in rivers.

Their minds never thought to think
of the pain his brain did feel -
the colors turning darker
eyes did burn by millions.

The candles didn't flicker that night,
as the lights clouded with fog -
unable to see your own two feet
fears rising by the milli-second.

We never stopped to tell him bye,
nor joined him in the chorus -
we only fought to find our own way,
shame bewildering the highest of high.

The comparison between the his and her heart was what really brought in the emotions with
"Her heart didn't skip a beat,
but his stopped for days -"

A trailing off into silence with "-" perfectly done,

"We never stopped to tell him bye,
nor joined him in the chorus -"

and thanks for the link. It was pretty helpful, got to admit that I was careless about my recent poems but I'll make sure I check over next time. Thx

It seems this poem shares in such a general way no one could accuse you of forcing your esteem of this well respected hero. Therefore I believe this one has a mass appeal
