Heads Up Hospital

Welcome to Heads Up Hospital
Where every soul inside is content
Smiles are shining brightly inside
Not one soul is bent

Their physical appearance may seem gruesome
And may be very difficult to behold
But they keep their heads up high
Every patient's soul here is never cold

Despite their horrible condition
They show nothing but utter happiness
The disfigured patients show a smile
From all their acts of recklessness

Pros fill the wings of this hospital
And everyone is feeling at their best
But we come to a room with an odd vibe
There is this one patient that sticks out from quite the rest

He is in perfect physical condition
Not one scratch, not one tear
No bruises, no bleeding
He even has a head full of hair

He seems to linger around this hospital
And he never seems to leave
He just mopes there, on his bed
Its quite hard to believe

He doesn't disturb anyone
And doesn't seem to say more than a word
He lays on his bed staring out his window
His attitude here is absolutely absurd

He has been checked for internal damage
No traces of any harm is found
He may leave whenever he may like
Yet he seems to still stick around

The doctors do their job well
But he seems to be the only one in pain
The nurses don't seem to see it either
As they do their rounds over and over again

This nurse does her rounds
And she approaches his bed
She checks his temperature
And feels his head

She takes a look at him and she says,
"You are one patient I do not get"
He thinks: I'm still here because
You haven't cured me yet

But the nurse hears a faint voice,
As she heads for the door and decides to leave
"The only one in need of real curing
are the insides of me."

A very different and unique piece I thought this was. At first you explain this hospital where no patient is in pain and everyone is happy and content. Wish that was real huh? But then one man stands out, but they can't find anything wrong with him, but he's so down. Good wording and descriptions, this poem was so alive and real to me. Excellent ending too, making the reader wonder what happens next. Nice job, I am really glad I came across this write. 5/5 from me, take care!
