Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Jan 10, 2009

Any time you have feelings you need to relieve
sit next to me and wear your heart on your sleeve.
Don't store your emotions away in a butterfly jar,
because you know damn well you won't make it far.

Stop sitting in the dark with a candle by your side.
You know there's help, but the flame you choose to hide.
The problems eat away until there's nothing left
leaving you the soul victim of your own theft.

Waxing and waning like the moon in the sky,
you're a bipolar mess though you always deny.
Can't you let a little out before you explode?
If you keep it up your very soul will erode.

I suppose it's your choice to be all alone,
but know you can call me on the phone.
Any time you have feelings you need to relieve
sit next to me and wear your heart on your sleeve.

Wow Jen. I loved this piece. I liked the repitition in the first and last stanzas. The first stanza was my favorite. You pulled it off in true Jen style. 5/5
