A perfect night ( Collab with Maddy )

by Ingrid   Jan 16, 2009

Hand in hand we walked along the windy beach that night
Stars twinkled high up in the sky surrounding a silver moon
For so long I had had my eye on you, but was too shy to speak
Until we bumped into each other by accident that Friday at noon

You asked me for my name and my faced got all flushed
With a trembling voice I told you mine and asked you yours
You were even more beautiful up close and my knees trembled
In silence I asked myself if could I become the one he adores?

We kept joining up, meeting for coffee or to just hang out,
I love you so, you felt the same, you set my heart in flame
Our loved burned more seriously, without doubt in grew stronger
The more we talked, the more I felt one day I'd wear your name

Finally one cool Friday night, I felt so sure this time it would happen
We walked along the beach, like the first time, under moon beams,
You gazed at my face, then knelt in the sand, asked for my hand
Suddenly my eyes fluttered open and it was all just a dream!

This poem was written together with Maddy for a club contest.
It was fun working with you, young lady!

A beautiful collab, you both did a wonderful job! What love was running through this poem, a love growing up to the point where he proposed, and then you found out it was all just a dream...Great twist at the end and a joy to read. Take care, 5/5 from me....

What a lovely collab :] I really got into the story and then to find out it was just a dream?! How heart breaking. It was written really well and i enjoyed reading it :] I couldnt even tell who wrote which stanzas.. i have an idea, but it definitely wasnt obvious. The flow was very good also :]
A very well written love poem. I hate it when dreams seem so real.. and then you wake up and its like a big disappointment.
    A fantastic write,
    5/5
    Good luck in the contest!
