Darkness

by Marcus   Jan 16, 2009

Rest has become seldom
Temptations have become my master
My mind is so weak
Yet my heart beats faster

As I put the poison in my body
The demons begin their attack
My friends can't be trusted
And time can't be brought back

At times I try to laugh
Other times I attempt to smile
All the beautiful things catch fire
My world seems so foul

Since I am the only one
That leads me to think that it's me
I'll never be able to change reality
I try to make it the best it can be

When that doesn't work
I might have a bad day
But these are just dark times
That I pray go away

This stanza throws the flow off so much .. I was really into it too ! :( . But other than that and a couple spots where the flow is off by like , a syllable , this poem is really really good . I like the rhymes , alot of them you don't see very often . I also really like the idea of it .. It projects a strong feeling . Really well done , 5/5 .

I do like this poem. It is kind of a gray poem for me. While there is nothing bad about it, (for me) it lacked power. I guess what i mean is, I have read a lot of poems like it. For what it is, it is a good poem 4/5.
