Ex marks the spot.

Forget those alligator heads,
that crayon box filled with broken ones.
Don't you recall the empty cartoon,
with scattered pictures everywhere?

Falling awake I stop to think,
in the dreaming mindset I'm in
as figurines have left me haunted,
while seeing your smiling face.

That ring tone I made just for you,
now it never chimes a melody
barren cold, desperately alone
awaiting what a heart forgot.

Those words, they're simple
yet so cliche - but I guess that fits
with your classic heartbeat
and holding my hand.

I'm returning home,
I thought you should know -
ex marks the spot,
only when it shows.

And, I've hidden emotions
blocked out the memories.
Burned up all the remains
and forgotten the ashes -
to blow away in a peaceful hell.

^This was my favorite stanza, i thought you made it modern, using "ringtone" and I like the way you tied it in with the emotion.

    I also enjoyed the ending

    Burned up all the remains
    and forgotten the ashes -
to blow away in a peaceful hell.

    ^The last line especially.

All in all it was a nice read. Good work.
