Let It Be

by Independence Forever   Jan 26, 2009

I stand in the city streets shouting my heart out
people walk by without a turned head or doubt

tears stream my face and gravity checks my stance
to my knees I plummet and watch the people advance

to the heavens I hold my hands and cry for a chance
just a glimpse back, a return to life's old song and dance

lost in the sea of people my future comes quickly
leaving me looking on lost and feeling rather sickly

the past was so great and my dreams seemed certain
only to be left closed off like light from a closed curtain

on my knees I cry and shout for help or a Savior
why was I singled out? was it some misbehavior?

without a notice I am lost in the fray of unnoticed people
no one knows or cares, they follow their own steeple

whether alone or with a group it's shown
that in the end we always die all alone
