Born to Sickness

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Jan 28, 2009

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
I'm ashamed now of remembering what we were.
Unsafe and unsure results us both getting an STD.
Not only that but now an unborn baby is what we see.

A diseased child growing inside to live and die.
It will kill my very soul to hear him when he'll cry.
I will know it's all our fault, yeah we're the ones to blame.
Bringing it into a world and wishing it back to whence it came.

Take away the infection and kill me instead.
I don't want this unborn child to be dead.
It deserves a life to live, not a death to receive.
Please cure this baby boy I will soon conceive.

A cursed life for all of us, this family of three.
Aids will kill us all one day, all because of me.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
If you have sex promise me you'll be sure.

Just to clear things up this poem isn't based on anything true. XD Hope you enjoyed it though!

Lol even you said it si nto based about nothign true , i have to say thsi jsut fit thousands of cases in real life jen , and i am like the way you re writing simple and clear words, the flow of the story jsut is amazing ,
i admit the STD subject is used but you used the saying in a very original way , at a point i could not decide if the desease is the child unborn or the STD , or both

and that what made the poem soo multi dimensional for me at least

i think you did a good job
    great work
