Lover's deathrow

by Iola   Feb 4, 2009

Forever and ever Amen
May end in the course of a week
Broken promises cannot be foreseen
The forecast for the heart looks bleak

Together forever and more
Seem to live only in fairy tales
Look how we tarnish and tore
Hanging onto unreliable rails

Loving until death do us part
Still alive although death has become
Living among each other is hard
Two hearts can never beat as one

Soulmates can never be broken
Not for the spirit who is not into mating
Living in solace our only token
As least then you escape someone's rating

Running away into the night
Continues until you hit your toe
No one is hearing my plight
Step out of the lover's death row!

Never in a thousand years
Turns into ever when you feel hurt
Save yourself from the anguish and tears
Get out of the dust and the dirt

The best love stories are written
By your own preconceived idea of peace
Today you are all flushed and smitten
Tomorrow your heart contracts a disease

You are sent from the heavens above
Then on my heavy shoulders you lie
Pray for us who is skeptics of love
For those hearts that refuses to try
