Crossbow

by Iola   Feb 4, 2009

My leg hurts but one step up I am taking
Grabbing onto your loving hand
No more fussing, fear and faking
Introduce me to your wonderland

My arm bleeds but it wants to hug
The body that keeps me warm
This is just me unplugged
Still wet from my recent storm

My lips burn as I open my mouth
To kiss the prince that is you
My heart goes north but my mind heads south
My tongue wants to play with yours too

My back aches but I am getting up
From the mud that hides my true light
Drinking slowly from your heated cup
Hoping to recover with all my might

My heart is still weak from all the gun shots
Yet I hear its beating from afar
Struggling to unravel from all its knots
Trying to recover from a very bad scar

My eyes are thick and tired
It wants to open to the roses you pour
From the crossbow that you have fired
Into a heart that believes in more
