Held

by Emily   Feb 6, 2009

Rythms beat and swell around me,
Resonating music in my core,
Melodious images forming,
Lone song on weather-beaten shore,
Forgotten story told no more...

Like blistered feet on a rocky slope,
My soul grows weary of this narrow way,
So high above the world's crowds,
Yet seeing beyond this stifling grey,
My Saviour urges me on each day.

Closing my eyes, breathing in air,
Letting music soothe my hidden tear.
So much is hurting inside me,
Constantly fighting internal fear,
Crying when only Jesus can hear.

Lovingly sheltered and gently carried,
I am held in the strongest grace.
Resting in His love, safe from all harm,
My peace is restored by His kind face,
Courage received for this hard place.
