Music of the Soul

Rough day at work
The day complete
Boss is a jerk
But I am not in defeat

Friends don't want to hear you complain
They have problems of their own
They show with obvious disdain
If I don't release, I'll go insane

So I pick up the guitar next to my bed
I start playing whatever comes to my head
Emotion and stress channeled into one
Clearing my head of everything I've done

The music reflects what is in my soul
It brings out blues, indie and rock n' roll
The guitar speaks through every chord
Expressing my feelings without a word

Satisfied with my release
The ill-will feelings begin to cease
My personal jam session is complete
A show just for myself, meant to be discrete

    I really enjoyed this poem, it flowed so well & has a great story & wording..

    ^^here it went a little off as you have dropped your rhyming schemes in the last 2 lines.

    But other then that one mishap.

    It was very well done poem.

    Wow, excellent work! Music does bring out what we cannot express. :)

    The full idiom of to err is human is "To err is human, to forgive divine". This idiom is used when someone has done something wrong, suggesting that they should be forgiven.

    I put "To err is human" because humans make mistakes sometimes. :D

    Btw, nice poem. It gives off the emotion of stress and in the end, peace.
