Words

by Twisted Heart   Feb 8, 2009

Sometimes, they are so cruel
They can bring you to your knees
Attempting to relive the sound
Each breath for you to see
In moments they can catapult
A heart that beat so true
Stinging in the aftermath
That targets only you

Some words are said in anger
In memories relived
They tear away at every soul
With nothing left to give
Tucked away inside your mind
They never go away
You pull them out in times of stress
When nothings left to say

Words pounding there inside of you
To many times they waste
Then from your lips they spin a web
Of lies you say in haste
Words come along how sad you see
Why did you say those things
Now nothings left inside of you
But heartache that they bring

Words, words, you've said them all
Now you're the one to blame
In silence from the blows you gave
The outcome's still the same
Some bitter words that gained in strength
When left from in your head
Now whisper in the night of loss
Are painful words you said.

This is such a great poem. Sometimes others don't think before they say things or how they can effect someone elses life. Once said they can never be brought back. You can always forgive....but the heart never forgets.
