This is an honest yet beautifully tragic dedication to those in the bush fires. It's always difficult to base poems on real events as it sometimes distracts the writer from writing a poem, not just stating what happened, and loosing that poetic touch. But you have both here, the imagery was great, the rhyming worked, and you should be proud of this piece. Well done you!

Hey Cara well done on an excellent poem , i wrote one last year about the fires here in south africa which by the way are blazing again, over 200 of them.
I have been following the Victoria fires on the news and pray the people of the area will stay safe, though i'm aware of all the lost lives already.
