A Reason to Run

by Twisted Heart   Feb 16, 2009

No stars to cross the lovers' knot
Nor twine the soul so fierce
As passion in a slumber caught
And heart is full of tears
In tune the mind begins to drift
On memories remade
An icy chill of pain will shift
As twilight starts to fade

Inside the heart of one so true
Reclaimed the ember burnt
Of words that seared the soul in two
A lesson well was learned.
Brand mind to call upon the soul
As sure as life has come
Now distance peaks the churning cold
To leave the chamber numb

The love has died inside yourself
No chance for soul to heal
The broken chain of loss was dealt
The memories surreal
Of shattered dreams that died in vain
And rays that left the sun
In darkness now you cry in pain
Then close your heart and run.

What and emotional piece of writing. I feel that you expertly conveyed your feelings by picking the appropriate words for certain places. Definately well done. 5/5.
