A Distraught Future

by Anaisthitos   Feb 17, 2009

As the air withdraws,
and the song loses its sweet tune,
we're gasping, pleading, hard,
although there's little left to lose.

Summer nights fade away,
into long, hard winter days.
Hope decays to dust,
as the wind blows It away.

Tears freeze to ice,
and fall to the hard worn floor,
the ice shatters into pieces,
there's no more tears, anymore.

My vocal cords are shot,
my laughter comes out in sobs.
My emotions have all been stripped,
my love has long been robbed.

My vitality has been exploited
and worn down into defeat.
Enmity's been injected
into this heart that did once beat.

I lost the will to fight,
even more, the will to live.
I once said I'd give everything,
but now I have no more to give.

I wish I could say I miss you,
but such sentiment could not exist,
For my emotions have burnt out
and now all that's left is to wish...

I really enjoyed this though its sad it has alot of relatability to it.
The rhyming was good as was your message.

even more, the will to live.

but now I have no more to give.

This stood out for me and was rather catchy.

This poem is very good. Seems a little staggering to read, and the ryhme scheme lacks slightly. All in all though, it is very good write full of emotion and imagery.
