The Heart Will Always See (Children's Poem)

by Lu   Mar 6, 2009

This poem is a CHILDREN'S POEM ... inspired from a club challenge.

The Heart Will Always See

Three blind mice
on their way to Philly
a journey to see a man .... a man they couldn't see

They heard he had wisdom
and a tongue of golden truth
they hoped to find answers .... to ease the pain of youth

They met him at the doorway
he greeted them with milk
then he began to speak .... in a voice as smooth as silk

What is it that troubles you
oh little mice of three
is it the world around you .... or the things you can not see

We come in search of answers
of why our hearts hurt so
you see our Daddy left us .... and why, we need to know

Without a word spoken
he left in the night
and ever since that day .... our days are none to bright

We know he went to heaven
there is no other place he'd go
but does he still love us .... is something we need to know

Dear sweet lads
your Daddy loved you much
did you not hear it in his voice .... feel it in his touch

Your Daddy is always with you
with you his memory will always be
one can be blind .... but their heart will always see

this very last stanza was just so touching Luanne:)
No wonder you won with this:)
Indeed, we do not need eyes to know we are loved, how very true.

This is one of the best poem i have come across so far. The pattern, words, simplicity and the message....everything one could look for. Beautiful poem indeed. Congrats on winning and i strongly feel that this one should stay on top for a long time even if its against rules... :)
