Bloody Mary

by fakesmile   Mar 7, 2009

You fell in love with her tangy personality
she left a bitter taste in our hearts, booze in her glass.
Mary was her name, seductive and mind blowing
one more sip of her can lead to oblivion
Soon dad's body craves nothing but her.
Intoxicating his every being
words reverberant, eyes vacillate
the room is shaking, you're in a stand-still
glasses breaking, someone's crying
"Make it stop! Make it stop!"
Sun rises but it's still dark inside
"Mom, what's that on your eye?"
Terrified to roll up her sleeves
Red is blood and your skin is purple
and years from now dad will be on his knees, begging
"I won't let mom give you the keys to her heart,
and open the door, what for dad to break her once more?!"
Time may mend wounds but her scars
will always be tainted by your Bloody Mary.
