Last minute memories

by Paul Delta nte   Mar 25, 2009

Glazed eyes stare, where no one else can see
The hand's lay cold and thin, as they will always be
At the end of his rope, his time line is filled
Now he's a hospital husk, drugged up on endless pills

He sees a world that is not ours
Full of bright green grass and ever growing flowers
Memories he has, of his dearest past
A small thought brushes his mind
How can time go so fast

He lies there, motionless, but living in his mind
He remembers everything he's done
All the love, lust, fun, and lies

He knows he is forgiven, he knows he can move on
But in his living memories, his world will never be gone

We never know what he is thinking
But it is where he is safe
And into sleep he's sinking
Never to be awake
