Perdition

by Melpomene   Mar 25, 2009

Once, twice
I begged for death
maligned by serpentine fires.
We brushed tales only
to extinct our hearts
conformed drinking
the exiliar of life.

Oracle cards
once lied to me.
I learned to entomb them
beneath the earth.
I called Dymphna
to heal my wounds
yet she plagued
me with the
ignorant hail.

My faith
became banished,
ruled by Thor.
And once, maybe twice,
I begged for death
The holy spirit,
evaporated my senses
dragging me in
to a cave of confessions.

Once, twice
I asked forgiveness.
Although I was told
to beg for death.
"Child, your far too gone,
to understand heaven"
without our father
your soul shall
not rest.

Absolutely brilliant, I have tried to express my emotions about the title perdition, but your poem simply completes mine.

    "Child, your far too gone,
    to understand heaven"
    without our father
    your soul shall
    not rest.

Astounding, usually I have much to say when praising beautiful poems such as yours, but I am lost for words.

Wow, Mel, that is so deep and profound, I loved it. You should tell me more about it so I can understand it better. :) 5/5
