Easter Joy

by Poet on the Piano   Apr 12, 2009

The true meaning of Easter time,
Does not consist of candy and sweets,
Or pies to the taste of key lime,
Neither rich nor cream-filled treats.

The true meaning of Easter time,
Does not consist of coloring eggs,
Or listening too tiny bells chime,
Neither running races with your legs.

The true meaning of Easter time,
Unfolds when you glance at the cross,
Where Christ Jesus was blamed for evil crime,
And how He suffered an immense loss.

The true meaning of Easter time,
Lies in the Resurrection of Our Lord,
His name forever be adored and sublime,
And His will be done and restored.
