I never understood why
you never saw my lies
How you couldn't see me cry
as a little piece of me dies

Or how you never saw me
fall down so hard
How I could never be
anything more than a shard

That piece of glass broken
so rough on my skin
I wondered why you didn't see them
how I had become so thin

Or saw me struggle
to find a footing in life
With everything I had to juggle
it's no reason I turned to the knife

I just hope you can understand
when I say I'm sorry
Or when I give you my hand
you feel the cold that's become me
