Midnight Moon

by Poet on the Piano   Apr 21, 2009

I felt my blood rushing through my skin,
Something was going to happen,
Something was going to change,
I could feel it with such awareness,
And it wasn't anything good.

My heart stopped beating suddenly,
When you screamed those words,
Nothing would ever be the same,
I would never see your beauty again.

This little piece was an idea for the back cover of Stephenie Meyer's books. In the Twilight series, she has some lines on the back of the cover that is an excerpt from the book. Also, the title "Midnight Moon" was an idea for a name for a future book of Meyer's. I wrote this on May 12, 2007.

Aw, in this is so much innocence!
I know you meant it to be a dark poem, but it brought such a smile to my face!
In this I can already see clearly you have talent. You have taken it to a higher level on here.
Keep writing MaryAnne, it is always a pleasure to read your work:)

    *hugs*
