Flashback

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   May 9, 2009

The highway tries to take them alive.
Prisoners of their vehicule, they watch the horror unfold.
The wheel no longer obeys his command.
The breaks are now nothing but a powerless pedal.

The vehicule twists and turns, unable to sleep.
It continues its tragic descent down the road.
It refuses to awake to face this horrid nightmare.
Reckless, the vehicule takes his prisoners hostage.

Speeding past innocent victims, they watch.
While the car continues its declivity.
Until, the highway seperation wall is inevitable.
It's approaching at lightning speed.

Powerless.

Broken glass shatters the silent hopes.
An undescribable crashing sound echoes in the night.
Plastering horrified faces on the surrounding witnesses.

An ambulance rushes to the scene.
Sirens blare in the distance.
A police car. Two police cars. An fire truck.
Red. Blue. Red Blue.

Her heart drums in her chest,
As I open my eyes. Reality sets in.
I'm standing at an intersection,
I shutter in my skin, unable to chase the shaky feeling.
Flashback.
