Note To Foe

by Sarah Ann   May 10, 2009

Shame;
Engulfing me. Eating away,
Watching me wither and decay
To nothingness. In shades of gray
With blinding white lights in the way
Of words we feel and wish to say
In envy, jealousy, and hate,
You're slandering.
The mess you made
Etched scars in me with your sharp blade,
Leaving me heartless, I forgave,
Gave in to all that I forbade.
Laid in that bed and now its made.
We're changed...

Rival of this crusade.

    I really enjoyed the dark diction of the piece.
    "Watching me wither and decay to nothingness"
    and the repetitive rhyme scheme puts emphasis on the topic.
