I thought I would read back and I discovered this gem.

A brittle daisy

A simple flower, some may say a weed flower. This flower is beautiful and in its simple form is elegant. Choosing this brittle one. I see a elegant flower with petals slightly crumpled and not perfect. Already this reader cares for this flower, an under dog so to speak.

The fact that the lover of this trophy. I assume a trophy of their lover has carefully preserved this 'weed' in between pages is testament of their love. A nurturing love. The pages are faded, so this picture is of a love that once was, or still is and the lover is merely reflecting on this happy memory - much like, looking back on an old family album where the pictures have faded yellow. They are simply the best pictures I have. Old memories seem to be the sweetest.

true to the Senryu form - this last line is the culmination of the previous two. A token of love. In this poem an etched memory of love from the past. This past concept allows this reader to assume the back story.
