A Holy Celebration~Tanka

by Poet on the Piano   May 31, 2009

African choir,
Pat their small drums in rhythm,
Singing praise to God.
Voices rise to the heavens,
Jubilant dancing 'til dusk.

---------------------------------
The Tanka is a form of Japanese poetry that consists of the
following syllables: 5, 7, 5, 7, 7.

------------------------------------------

Our parish priest recently took a trip to Africa and showed us pictures of the choir in churches. He explained how their singing and dancing were so joyful, they continued for hours.
Soon I will write in more detail about this, but this is just the basic. Hope you all enjoy this! Thanks to Kiko for a few corrections, I appreciate it!
