Left with alibies and lying eyes

by Landi Cordier   Jun 2, 2009

I remember still,
the day you said
that word.
Just that word,
that one word,
Leaving...

your voice was loud,
te sound
came from far away
you said you were
leaving,
just for a day.

I weren't supposed
to call you,
and I weren't allowed
to ask
I didn't have that comfort
of knowing where you are

I knew you weren't just
leaving,
even for a day,
for what you were really saying,
was actually
goodbye.

I listened to your story,
full of alibies and lies.
You had so much excuses
of why you had to go.
You had so many stories,
so many lies, so many cries.

Instinctifly I knew it,
I knew that I'd not
speak to you again,
never would I hear
from you again.

You left me
with a broken heart,
alibies and
your lying eyes

I'm stuck with
tears for comfort
My pulse left with
desire.
