Clarity

by Larry Chamberlin   Jun 9, 2009

Clarity

Things come clear when the clutter of day's urgency ebbs.

When you surrender the light, waiving unquenched thirsts,
The elemental core shows up like a tree in full moon light:
Stark, clarified, yet retaining the mystery of the night.

The future, like sap-water wicked through the tree, vaporizes;
Eternity shines ever more empty in the silvered light;
Life shows its branches are mere alternative courses;

The trunk as time stands firm, upholding the constant flow;
While the roots, dowsing through granite, maintain a stake
On the waters of your past, and claw the surface of current reality.

(distractions fade)
(darkness reveals)
(fullness of nothing)
(all streams seaward)
(place is motion)
(accretion is loss)

    That was beautiful. Very discriptive, and it had a good flow. Keep writting, 5/5!
